The Washington Huskies may have won the Pac-12 championship and participated in the College Football Playoff semifinal Peach Bowl, but they’re not the highest ranked team from their own conference in the final Associated Press poll of the season.

UW (12-2) finished fourth in the Top 25, with USC surprisingly leapfrogging the Huskies for the No. 3 ranking. The 10-3 Trojans, one of only two teams to beat Washington this season, they finished the season with nine straight wins – including a 52-49 victory over Penn State in the Rose Bowl that helped them jump six spots from their previous No. 9 ranking.

The first two spots in the poll belong to No. 1 Clemson, which beat Alabama in the CFP title game on Monday night to jump to the top from No. 3, and the second-ranked Tide. Oklahoma rounds out the top five, and Ohio State comes in at No. 5 after losing to Clemson in one of the CFP semifinal games.

Three other Pac-12 teams join USC and Washington in the Top 25 – Stanford (No. 12), Colorado (No. 17) and Utah (No. 23).

Washington State received one vote in the poll.
