Lawyer Milloy played for a fair number of head coaches during his football career. But two of them stand out above the rest.
In his second year as a safety the NFL, Milloy’s New England Patriots gave the reins to Pete Carroll. And when New England moved on from Carroll after the 1999 season, Bill Belichick moved into the post that he’s held ever since. All told, Lawyer spent three years playing for both with the Patriots – plus a fourth under Carroll in Milloy’s final year as a pro with the Seahawks in 2010 – so he has a pretty good idea of the strengths, weaknesses and differences of the pair.
Milloy, who was a star at Tacoma’s Lincoln High School and the University of Washington before going on to his storied NFL career, joined John Clayton on the latest episode of Schooled to discussed what makes Carroll and Belichick two of the best to ever coach the game.
