No. 6 UW Huskies to meet No. 9 Colorado in Pac-12 title game

The Pac-12 championship game is set: No. 6 Washington against No. 9 Colorado.
The Buffaloes (10-2 overall) beat No. 22 Utah 27-22 on Saturday night to clinch the Pac-12 South title, as they finished the conference schedule with an 8-1 record. Colorado’s one loss in Pac-12 play came against No. 12 USC (9-3 overall, 7-2 conference), who would have taken the South had the Buffs lost to Utah.
Washington (11-1, 8-1) clinched the Pac-12 North with Friday’s 45-17 win over No. 23 Washington State in the Apple Cup on Friday in Pullman.
The Pac-12 championship game will be at 6 p.m. next Friday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The contest will air on FOX.
The Huskies and Buffaloes haven’t played since 2014, when UW beat Colorado 38-23 in Boulder during head coach Chris Petersen’s first season with the program.
A win for the Huskies over Colorado may be enough to garner them inclusion in the four-team College Football Playoff that will settle the national championship. If UW wins the Pac-12 title game but isn’t included in the CFP, it will compete in the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2001. A loss would almost certainly keep the Huskies out of both the CFP and Rose Bowl.
