Despite losing several key players to injury, Russell Wilson led the Seahawks past the Philadelphia Eagles for a 26-15 on Sunday. Here’s what Eagles players had to say to the media:
WR Jordan Matthews: “You have to give all the credit to the Seahawks. They are a great team, played extremely well, but like I said, it’s been frustrating, but at the same time, I don’t think anybody here thinks we can’t compete. Nobody’s throwing us around, we are in every single game.”
DE Brandon Graham on trying to containing Russell Wilson: “It was kind of tough. We knew that going in. We were just going to go out there and just rush hard. He just made the plays that he needed to make. With him you just have to make sure you keep coming, and I think we did that, we just kept coming but he’s a good quarterback on the run and we knew that we just had to get to him.”
QB Carson Wentz on a nullified touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz: “It’s frustrating. Any time you have a big play like that (called back), it’s frustrating. I think the biggest thing with us is that we have so many little mistakes every week, even when we win games we have so many mistakes that just keep hurting us. We’re leaving big plays out there. We’re leaving scores out there.”
Coach Doug Pederson on the team’s poor road record: “This is a tough place to play. It’s obviously electric. Everybody knows it coming in here. I thought we did a good job handling that. Even with some of the things trying to get lined up, we were able to communicate and get the snap off. … When you’re on the road you have to keep that same mentality that you have at home. Whether you feed off the crowd or each other, it’s just those guys in the locker room that travel on these trips. It’s just a good one to learn from.”
