Seahawks coach Pete Carroll tells KIRO Radio 97.3 FM that strong safety Kam Chancellor will likely miss his second straight game due to a groin injury.
“Kam Chancellor is not likely to play,” Carroll told Dori Monson. “We’ll see if anything can change that, but he just didn’t make enough progress this week. It looks like he might be another week away. We’ll see.”
Chancellor injured his groin in practice last Thursday. He sat out Friday as well as Sunday’s game against Atlanta and then wasn’t able to practice Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Kelcie McCray started at strong safety in his absence and would do so again Sunday night against Arizona.
Carroll also said during his weekly appearance on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM that rookie running back C.J. Prosise is still expected to play Sunday night for the first time since breaking a bone in his hand in the opener.
Carroll will speak with the media at-large following the team’s Friday afternoon practice and will provide the full extent of Seattle’s injury situation heading into Sunday night’s game.
