Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor missed his second straight practice Thursday, a sign that his availability for Sunday night’s game against Arizona is in question due to a groin injury.

Coach Pete Carroll described it as a slight groin pull that Chancellor sustained in practice last Thursday. He didn’t practice Friday nor did he play Sunday. On Wednesday, Carroll called Chancellor day-to-day and said he was running in between the morning walk-through and afternoon practice to test the injury.

If Chancellor can’t play Sunday, which is looking increasingly possible, Kelcie McCray would get his second straight start at strong safety. Carroll had a favorable review of the way McCray played against Atlanta, but he also acknowledged that the miscommunication that led to a coverage breakdown and Julio Jones’ 36-yard touchdown reception was something that typically doesn’t happen when Chancellor is in charge of getting the defense on the same page.

Joining Chancellor on the did-not-participate list Thursday were tight end Jimmy Graham (knee/hip) and linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (ankle). Graham has occasionally missed practice this season as he continues to come back from last year’s knee injury but hasn’t missed a game. Pierre-Louis, making his first start at strong-side linebacker, briefly came out of Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, but Carroll has described it as minor.

Defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson (thumb/knee) was listed as a limited participant Thursday after practicing without limitation Wednesday. He missed the Atlanta game following thumb surgery and has been wearing a cast.

Defensive ends Michael Bennett (knee) and Frank Clark (hamstring) were listed as full participants for the second straight day Thursday, so they appear to be on track to play Sunday. Clark missed Seattle’s last game while Bennett was injured in the third quarter.

Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer (hamstring) was listed as limited Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s practice.

• TE Luke Willson (knee)
• SS Kam Chancellor (groin)

• TE Jimmy Graham (knee/hip)

Limited participation

• DT Quinton Jefferson (thumb/knee)

Full participation

• LT Bradley Sowell (back)
• QB Russell Wilson (ankle/knee)
• RB C.J. Prosise (wrist)
