Lineups: Mariners’ Ariel Miranda goes for 5th straight win vs Twins
Sep 24, 2016, 1:19 PM
Rookie left-hander Ariel Miranda will be looking for his fifth straight win when he takes the mound for the Mariners on Saturday in Game 2 of their series with the Twins.
Miranda, 27, is 4-0 with a 2.16 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in four starts (25 innings) in September, and if he wins in Minnesota will become just the 14th rookie since 1913 to go 5-0 in September.
The Mariners’ batting order is identical to that in Friday’s 10-1 win, with Norichika Aoki, Seth Smith, Adam Lind and Mike Zunino all getting starts against Twins righty Tyler Duffey.
Seattle entered the day two games back in the American League Wild Card race.
Coverage of the game on 710 ESPN Seattle begins at 3 p.m. with the pregame show, followed by first pitch at 4:10.
