University of Washington wide receiver Kasen Williams paid a $695.50 fine and was placed on two years’ probation on Monday stemming from a misdemeanor alcohol citation he received in Chelan County in May.

Williams, a 20-year-old junior from Sammamish, Wash. who led the Huskies in receiving last season, was arrested on May 26 for being under the age of 21 and driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol, according to court records. He was not charged with DUI.

Washington coach Steve Sarkisian released a statement through the university Tuesday afternoon: “We are aware of an incident involving Kasen Williams in Chelan County on May 26. As a matter of policy, any disciplinary measures taken as a result of this incident will remain internal to the team.”

According to an arrest report, a Washington State Patrol officer noted that he smelled the odor of alcohol and marijuana and that Williams’ eyes appeared watery and red after he pulled the receiver over for driving 45 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Williams stated he had one beer earlier in the evening. He voluntarily took a preliminary breath test and recorded a blood-alcohol level of .054, which is under the state’s legal limit of .08 but above the .02 threshold for minors. He was arrested and later submitted two breath tests that registered BAC levels of .059 and .056.

Williams led Washington with 77 catches and 878 yards as a true sophomore last season.

He becomes the second prominent Husky football player to be arrested this offseason for an alcohol-related offense. Tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins is facing a DUI charge stemming from a March arrest in which he registered a BAC level of more than twice the legal limit following a car accident in Seattle’s University District. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for next week.

In the video below, former Washington quarterback and current Husky radio commentator Damon Huard joins Bob Stelton in discussing how Sarkisian will handle Williams’ arrest.
