Marques Tuiasosopo and Justin Wilcox are reportedly following Steve Sarkisian to USC, becoming the latest assistant coaches to leave Washington for jobs on the Trojans’ staff.
According to Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, USC is expected to announce the hirings on Monday — Wilcox as defensive coordinator and Tuiasosopo as tight ends coach.
Tuiasosopo, elevated from UW’s quarterbacks coach to the interim coach when Sarkisian was hired by USC, guided the Huskies to a win over BYU in the Fight Hunger Bowl on Friday. According to Jude, he was offered a job as UW’s tight ends coach by new coach Chris Petersen.
Wilcox was the Huskies’ defensive coordinator the last two seasons. USC had reportedly balked at paying the buyout in his contract with UW.
According to Jude, former Boise State quarterbacks coach Jonathan Smith will take the same job on Petersen’s staff, which is expected to be announced this week.
