Damore’ea Stringfellow has traded in the Huskies’ purple and gold for the Huskers’ red and white.

The former UW wide receiver will transfer to Nebraska, he told Nebraska.247sports.com on Saturday.

Stringfellow was suspended along with quarterback Cyler Miles after being accused of an assault in the University District the night of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl win. He was eventually charged with fourth-degree assault and took a plea deal for three misdemeanors before Washington announced he would transfer.

Miles was not charged and has since rejoined the Huskies.

“Nebraska was my second choice when I committed to Washington,” Stringfellow told the website. “I love the coaches and in particular (wide receivers coach Rich Fisher). … This is it for me. I’m signed and set for Nebraska. My family, my mom and my dad support my decision 100 percent.”

As a true freshman in 2013, Stringfellow had 20 receptions for 259 yards, including a 147-yard performance against UCLA.

Stringfellow will redshirt in 2014 and have three years of eligibility remaining with Nebraska.
