Washington State will begin the 2014 season with the annual Seattle Game, which is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 28 against Rutgers at CenturyLink Field.
The Pac-12 released its 2014 football schedules Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars have six games at Martin Stadium, beginning with a Sept. 13 matchup against Portland State. A week later, WSU will open Pac-12 play at home against Oregon. The Apple Cup will be played in Pullman on Nov. 29, two days after Thanksgiving.
“This is truly an outstanding schedule for our team and for our fans,” WSU athletic director Bill Moos said in a press release. “Having six games in Martin Stadium has not happened in a while and the conference slate of home games is outstanding. In addition, playing new Big Ten member Rutgers in Seattle on the Thursday night of Labor Day weekend should prove to be attractive in regards to attracting a great crowd as well as a large national television audience.”
