Second-round picks Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Bishop Sankey weren’t the only former Washington Huskies to find new homes after the NFL Draft, as two others have joined new Seahawk Keith Price as an undrafted free-agent signee out of Montlake.
Wide receiver Kevin Smith has reportedly agreed with the Arizona Cardinals, while cornerback Greg Ducre tweeted that he has agreed with the San Diego Chargers.
In Arizona, Smith will join its new strong safety Deonne Bucannon , a first-round selection from Washington State. The two are no doubt familiar with each other from playing against each other in multiple Apple Cups.
The 5-foot-11, 214-pound Smith was the Huskies’ leading receiver in 2013 with 765 yards. He hauled in 50 receptions and made four touchdowns, including a 70-yard score against Arizona State.
Ducre (5-10, 184 pounds) turned heads with a 4.32 40-yard dash at Washington’s Pro Day last month. He made 37 tackles and two interceptions for the Huskies as a senior in 2013.
One other former Husky, safety Sean Parker, is a candidate to be signed.
