Felix Hernandez has a big opportunity to prove he is fully recovered from his month-long stint on the disabled list, as he’s facing the MLB-leading Chicago Cubs in a rare Sunday night game for the Mariners, who are coming off a huge 4-1 win Saturday at Wrigley Field.
Hernandez will throw to catcher Mike Zunino, who is getting the start against Cubs lefty Brian Matusz. It will be Zunino’s seventh start in nine games since being recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on July 20.
You can hear the Mariners’ finale from the Friendly Confines on 710 ESPN Seattle, with first pitch set for 5:08. The pregame show will begin at 4.
