Chris Iannetta, Dae-Ho Lee in Mariners’ lineup for opener vs Cubs
Jul 29, 2016, 9:49 AM
Mike Zunino has been getting the bulk of the work at catcher since his latest call-up, but Chris Iannetta is behind the plate today for the opener of the Mariners’ three-game series against the Cubs in Chicago.
Iannetta is hitting eighth ahead of pitcher Hisahi Iwakuma, who will bat under National League rules. Shortstop Shawn O’Malley is leading off while Dae-Ho Lee is at first base and hitting sixth against Cubs left-hander Jon Lester, a Tacoma native.
Outfielder Guillermo Heredia, recalled from Triple-A earlier this morning, is available but not in the starting lineup.
First pitch is at 11:20 on 710 ESPN Seattle with pregame coverage beginning at 10.
