The MLB Network will televise Ken Griffey Jr.’s induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday.
The network passed along the above video feature that shows some footage of the crafting of Griffey’s bronze Hall of Fame plaque as well as that of Mike Piazza, who will also be enshrined Sunday. That feature will lead into the network’s exclusive coverage, which begins at 9 a.m. PT. The ceremony takes place at 10:30 a.m. PT.
Shannon Drayer is in Cooperstown, N.Y. for the ceremony and will continue to provide coverage of the event on 710Sports.com. Here’s her story on Mariners bullpen coach Mike Hampton recalling what it was like to play with and against both inductees. Here’s another on the memories that current Mariners have of Griffey. Also, MLB Network analyst Harold Reynolds told John Clayton that he thinks the Kingdome turf kept Griffey from breaking baseball’s home-run record.
