Mike Blowers talked about what it was like playing alongside the future Hall of Famer. He also gave a little behind-the-scenes insight into the end of a remarkable streak by Griffey. Special guest Ryan Rowland-Smith told the tale of how his big-league debut was made even more memorable by Junior. Rick Rizzs talked about what he appreciated most about Griffey on the field. Dave Sims shared the experience of getting to take his young son to the ballpark to see him play. Last but not least, I explain why when Griffey’s name is mentioned, my first thoughts are not about what he did on the ball field.
Plenty of good Griffey moments shared with more to come throughout the week, which ends in Cooperstown.
