Video: Mariners’ Dae-Ho Lee rumbles around the bases, gets thrown out at home

Jun 29, 2016, 9:37 AM

Dae-Ho Lee is a very large man, listed at 6 feet 4 and what may be a conservative 250 pounds. As such, he doesn’t run so much as he rumbles.

That made for an exciting few seconds during the seventh inning of the Mariners’ 5-2 win over Pittsburgh Tuesday night when Lee tried unsuccessfully to score from first base on a Kyle Seager double to the gap.

Check it out in the video above. Lee had the proverbial piano on his back as he was waved around third base. It took a great relay throw and tag to nail him at home.

Just as good was the line afterward from Aaron Goldsmith on the radio call: “They might have to check the foundation here at Safeco Field.”
