The Mariners were three outs away from their seventh straight loss. Adam Lind made sure it didn’t get to that.
After a Kyle Seager double and Dae-Ho Lee walk set the stage, Lind blasted an offering from Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal in the ninth inning deep into the seats beyond the right-field wall, delivering a very important 4-3 win to the Mariners in the first game of a nine-game homestand.

Seattle was in desperate need of a victory, having fallen under .500 the day before to cap off a rough 2-8 road trip.
Lind’s homer was his only hit of the game and just the sixth by the Mariners against the Cardinals. It was his 11th homer of the year, however, as he’s rebounded well from a slow start to the season.
