Free-agent tight end Visanthe Shiancoe will visit with the Seahawks “within the next few days,” according to Steve Wyche of the NFL Network.

Mutual interest between Shiancoe and the Seahawks should come as no surprise.
Seattle could be looking to add a backup to Zach Miller after John Carlson signed a five-year deal with the Vikings on Wednesday.
Shiancoe would find plenty of familiar faces — and plays — in Seattle. He spent the last five seasons in Minnesota, where he played with current Seahawks Tarvaris Jackson, Sidney Rice and Heath Farwell. Darrell Bevell was his offensive coordinator for four seasons.
Shiancoe, 31, caught 36 passes for 409 yards and three touchdowns in 2011. From 2008-09, he caught 98 passes for 1,162 yards and 18 touchdowns. He hasn’t missed a game during his nine-year career.
Anthony McCoy, Cameron Morrah and John Nalbone are the other tight ends on the Seahawks’ roster.
