The Seahawks already added an interior defensive lineman this offseason by signing Jason Jones to a one-year deal. They’re apparently looking to add another.
Free-agent defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin is visiting with the Seahawks Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network.
Franklin made 17 tackles in 16 games for the Saints last season. He had spent the previous four seasons with the 49ers, who named him their franchise player in 2010. From 2007-2010, Franklin averaged more than 36 tackles and made 60 starts. His resume suggests he wouldn’t give the Seahawks much in the way of pass-rush, as he has only four sacks in nine seasons.
At 31, Franklin would be the second-oldest player on the Seahawks, four months younger than cornerback Marcus Trufant. Franklin hasn’t missed a game since 2007.
Update: The team confirmed that Franklin was in for a visit on Tuesday.
