Gentle giant Red Bryant can keep teammates in check

A year ago, Seahawks general manager John Schneider felt his young team lacked the locker-room enforcer capable of keeping a wayward teammate from getting out of line.
That was his stated reason for not feeling comfortable enough to draft Jimmy Smith, a talented cornerback who some said would have been a top 10 pick had it not been for some character concerns.
After speaking with Red Bryant on Wednesday, Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby are convinced that the Seahawks’ affable and soft-spoken defensive end has what it takes to hold teammates accountable.
