For the second week in a row, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced that Matt Flynn will start at quarterback for their second preseason game against the Denver Broncos this Saturday.
Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson will play the second half, just like the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans last week.
Carroll had many wondering what his plan was after Tarvaris Jackson took all the reps with the No. 1 offense on Tuesday. But repeating his statement from last week, Carroll said the team knows what it has in Jackson and wants to get Flynn and Wilson game action to learn more.
Flynn got all the reps with the first-team unit last week after being named the starter against the Titans. Flynn was efficient in his first game as a Seahawk, completing 11-of-13 passes for 71 yards, despite one interception.
Wilson had an impressive NFL debut against the Titans as he led the team in both passing and rushing, scoring a 32-yard touchdown off a naked bootleg in the 4th quarter that clinched the Seahawks’ 27-17 win.
