The Seahawks’ Week 16 game against the 49ers in Seattle has been flexed to prime time, pushing the kickoff from 1:25 to 5:20 p.m.
The Dec. 23 game will be televised nationally on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.” As always, you can listen on 710 ESPN Seattle or KIRO Radio 97.3 FM.
The NFL made the announcement Monday, moving the original “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the Chargers and Jets to 10 a.m. PST.
The Seahawks-49ers matchup is an appealing one on several levels. Aside from the obvious playoff implications – Seattle sits a game and a half behind San Francisco in the NFC West – both teams have exciting young quarterbacks, physical defenses and head coaches who don’t always see eye-to-eye.
This will be the Seahawks’ third prime time game this season. They beat Green Bay on “Monday Night Football” in Week 3 and lost to San Francisco on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 7.
