Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant practiced for the first time in nearly a month on Wednesday. Trufant had missed the last four games, recovering from a hamstring injury.

“Tru is going to go today. It will be great to have him out there,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “He’ll be jumping in at the nickel spot and see how he does there. We’ll see how he handles it, and each day will tell us a new story.

“We can’t project how he’s going to make it for the game. We don’t know that.”

Cornerback Walter Thurmond, also sidelined of late with a hamstring injury, wasn’t able to practice Wednesday.

According to Carroll, there is also some concern at the linebacker position. Leroy Hill (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. Backup Malcolm Smith, although a full go in practice, recently suffered a groin injury. Carroll said Monday that should either linebacker be unable to play Sunday against St. Louis, Mike Morgan would get the starting nod at the weakside linebacker spot.

Although both wide receiver Sidney Rice and defensive end Red Bryant did not practice Wednesday, both should be available Sunday.
