The mood was obviously upbeat at Thursday’s Seahawks practice. Players had some extra pep in their step with news that cornerback Richard Sherman had won his appeal of a four-game suspension. Sherman and his lawyers convinced the league a random drug test had been tainted by a procedural error.
Quarterback Russell Wilson told reporters before practice, “Obviously Richard Sherman is a tremendous football player, and is having a great season. He’s helped me learn the quarterback position in terms of facing him every single day.”
The injury report improved as well with only two players not participating in practice. Linebacker Leroy Hill has a hamstring injury, while receiver Golden Tate came down with an illness.
Limited in Thursday’s practice were right tackle Breno Giacomini (elbow), cornerback Walter Thurmond (hamstring) and defensive end Red Bryant (foot).
Receiver Sidney Rice was a full participant after sitting out Wednesday’s session with a sore knee. After one day out with a back problem, tight end Anthony McCoy was also full go.
The St. Louis Rams are a pretty healthy team preparing for Sunday’s regular-season finale at CenturyLink Field. Running back Steven Jackson was over a Wednesday illness enough to do all the work in Thursday’s practice.
