Lynch misses second practice with foot injury

Unlike the Patriots, who had 20 players listed as “limited in practice” Thursday, the Seahawks had none.

The team did, however, have the same three players miss practice from Wednesday: running back Marshawn Lynch (foot), cornerback Byron Maxwell (hamstring) and safety Jeron Johnson (hamstring).

This is the first time this season Lynch has been listed with a foot injury. Normally a limited participant on Wednesdays due to his back, Lynch popped up on the report Wednesday as having missed the practice entirely.

Nothing further was provided as to the nature of the foot issue, but coach Pete Carroll is scheduled to speak to the media after Friday’s morning walk-through.

Lynch, although not having practiced this week, has yet to be ruled out for Sunday’s divisional-round game in Atlanta. Lynch is routinely given veteran rest days, and this most recent appearance on the injury list should not be cause for great concern.

If the foot issue was the result of poor field conditions on Sunday, Carroll would likely have mentioned the injury during one of this week’s press conferences.

Lynch has yet to miss a game this season. Should Lynch be unavailable for Sunday, rookie Robert Turbin would start.

The final injury report, as well as who is expected to dress for Sunday, should be announced Friday afternoon.
