Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley could soon become the head coach of the Eagles.

That was the word Tuesday afternoon from ESPN’s John Clayton.
“I know he’s over at [Eagles owner] Jeff Lurie’s house as we speak, and I would imagine that at some point they’re going to offer him the job,” Clayton told 710 ESPN Seattle shortly after 4 p.m. “I don’t think they’ve entered any contract negotiations yet, but I would anticipate that’s what’s going to happen.”
Bradley had a second interview with the Eagles earlier Tuesday. The first was Saturday in Atlanta, a day before the Seahawks’ season-ending playoff loss to the Falcons. According to the Associated Press, Bradley is the first of 11 known candidates for the Eagles job to get a second interview.
Bradley previously interviewed with the Chargers about their head-coaching vacancy. He was scheduled to meet with the Jaguars later this week, but Clayton suggested that could have been set up to gain leverage.
“It would be almost stunning if he takes the trip down to Jacksonville,” Clayton said.
Demand is growing for Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as well. Already a candidate for the Bears’ and Jaguars’ head-coaching jobs, Bevell is also scheduled to interview with the Cardinals, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Bevell was scheduled to interview for a second time with the Bears. He’s believed to be among the final two or three candidates for that job. Clayton said he expects the Bears to make that decision by Wednesday.
Stay tuned.
