Jets’ Revis the latest target of Sherman’s mouth

We already knew that no one is off limits when it comes to Richard Sherman’s trash talking.

The Seahawks’ All-Pro cornerback has rubbed a win in Tom Brady’s face, warned Peyton Manning against joining the division, vowed to shut down Calvin Johnson and criticized A.J. Green’s fundamentals.

So it should come as no surprise that Sherman’s latest target is Darrelle Revis, the Jets’ Pro Bowl cornerback and former defensive player of the year. That didn’t make it any less entertaining, of course.

Revis was unanimously considered the league’s top cornerback before an ACL injury cut his 2012 season short. Sherman played his way into the discussion by following up a strong rookie season with a breakout campaign. That discussion was the impetus of a Twitter spat between the two star cornerbacks Wednesday. Revis took offense when Sherman, taking part in a Q&A session with his Twitter followers, didn’t include Revis in his list of the league’s best cornerbacks.

“he didn’t play this year so when he does then he will be in it,” Sherman tweeted.

The gloves came off after that. Here are some of the highlights:

Revis: “I never seen a man before run his mouth so much like girl. This dude just steady putting my name in his mouth to get notoriety”

Revis: “My boy @JohnGeiger_ got more followers then @rsherman_25. Sit down young pup & wait your turn.”

Sherman: “don’t need ya name… Ur name will be irrelevant once u step back on the field bruh. Get ya picks up!”

Sherman: “one season u will get 8 picks…. But it won’t happen anytime soon… I did it in my 2nd season… So u have something to chase”

Sherman: “Got off my flight to this hilarious convo. So I have 8 picks 3 ff and a sack. My season stats looking like Revis career stats”

Sherman: “For the QB not throwing his way argument. In his 2nd year they were throwing his way. I still doubled his picks”

Revis: “That’s like you saying your better then Deion Sanders & since he’s not playing no more he’s irrelevant for what he’s done.”

Revis: “child please, lol!!! Your still taking baby steps son. Don’t get to a head of yourself.”

Revis: “Hey everyone @rsherman_25 wants to be a lockdown corner. He wants to be in the talks of a lockdown corner. So follow him so he can become 1!”

Revis: “This dude just interrupted my NBA 2k game cause he has draSms to be a lockdown corner!!! HAHA #keepdreaming”

Sherman: “Remember that time the number of twitter followers mattered more than the production on the field? Me either”

Sherman: “lmao he living off reputation right now… I’m living off performance. That’s why he’s mad…”

Bob Stelton and Dave Grosby were so entertained by the cornerbacks’ Twitter spat that they couldn’t help but make it the subject of their post-show video, which you can watch below.
