The 2005 Seattle Seahawks will long be the measuring stick for the franchise – especially on the offensive line.
During that NFC Championship campaign, the Seahawks boasted three Pro Bowlers on the line – Walter Jones, Steve Hutchinson and Robbie Tobeck. At the time, Seattle clearly benefited from continuity, as each of those players had been with the team for at least four seasons.
Continuity is no longer something the Seahawks rely on, however. Offensive-line coach Tom Cable’s system values flexibility, with several moving pieces filling around the cornerstone of All-Pro center Max Unger.
Don’t confuse that for a lack of stability, however. As Brock Huard and Danny O’Neil discuss in the video below, the Seahawks offensive line could be in line to be one of the league’s best in 2013.
