Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch won’t be facing a trial in California for his DUI case until the final week of December at the earliest.

That timeline became clear after a motion by the defense to suppress evidence was continued until Nov. 1. Lynch’s attorney confirmed the continuance and said there was also a request for further discovery. A hearing to determine trial readiness isn’t scheduled until Dec. 27 so while a trial date hasn’t been set, that date provides a timeline for the case.
In the meantime, there is a pre-trial hearing scheduled for next Thursday, and there is always the possibility the two sides could reach an agreement in the case.
Lynch was arrested last year by California Highway Patrol, measuring his blood-alcohol content at 0.08 during the stop and at 0.10 later at the station. The legal limit in California is 0.08. He was subsequently charged with DUI in Alameda County, with Lynch entering a plea of not guilty.
