The Mariners will wrap up a two-game “home” series at San Francisco’s Oracle Park against the Giants on Thursday afternoon, and they’ll continue to play as the home team on the road for at least another three games.

M’s broadcasters on if MLB rule changes should stay or go

The upcoming Mariners-Padres series has been moved to San Diego’s PETCO Park due to ongoing poor air quality in the Seattle area cause by a confluence of smoke from wildfires in Washington and neighboring states.

Seattle’s pair of games against the Giants were initially scheduled to begin Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park, a day after the Mariners and Athletics played a doubleheader of seven-inning contests in a noticeably smoky ballpark with the air quality index reading at unhealthy levels. The series was postponed Tuesday – after the Giants had already flown to Seattle from their previous series in San Diego. Both the Mariners and Giants had a scheduled day off Thursday, so the games were pushed back a day and relocated to Oracle Park.

The games in San Diego will go ahead with the same start times as originally scheduled in Seattle.

The Mariners previously played a series in San Diego last month, and that one also featured a change to the original program. The M’s and Padres played a doubleheader to finish up the series after Seattle was one of many sports teams that decided to postpone a game by a day at that time in protest of racial inequality.

Here’s a look at the upcoming series, the first two games of which will air on 710 ESPN Seattle, with the finale airing on 770 AM KTTH due to Seahawks football on Sunday.
