HOUSTON – Center Max Unger and right tackle Breno Giacomini were declared inactive for Sunday’s game, meaning they will not dress and will miss the game.
The news is not a shock as both were deemed doubtful, but it means Seattle will be facing Houston – one of the top pass-rushing teams in the NFL – without three of its five starting offensive linemen. Left tackle Russell Okung is already out with an injured toe.
Lemuel Jeanpierre will start at center in place of Unger, who had started 29 consecutive regular-season games for Seattle. Rookie Michael Bowie will play right tackle for the Seahawks while Paul McQuistan will start his second game at left tackle.
The Texans will also be missing their starting left tackle as Duane Brown is inactive, also because of a toe injury.
Seattle’s inactive players: S Jeron Johnson, RB Spencer Ware, LB John Lotuleleli, DE Benson Mayowa, DT Jordan Hill, Unger, Giacomini.
Houston’s inactive players: QB Case Keenum, WR Lestar Jean, LB Tim Dobbins, G Cody White, T Duane Brown, DE Sam Montgomery, DE Tim Jamison.
