NEWARK, N.J. – This is the scene on the floor of the Prudential Center:
A cover band performs Bruce Springsteen’s “Glory Days” as cameramen set up their equipment in front of the main podiums. An older woman dressed in a referee’s outfit gets makeup – and eye black – applied to her face while Miss New Jersey draws a crowd of reporters as she gives an interview.
Current and former NFL players mingle among the masses. One of them – ex-Falcons running back Jamal Anderson – sits on the bleachers and takes a moment to soak it all in.
Welcome to Super Bowl media day, where anything and everything goes.
The Broncos wrapped up their session around 8:45 a.m. PST. The Seahawks are up next, scheduled to begin at 9:45.
Coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson and defensive backs Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor will be seated at the main podiums. Other players will hold court at tables while the rest will be roaming the floor.
