Golden Tate believes he’s positioned himself well for a nice contract. All he can do now is wait and hope the Seahawks offer him one.

Those were the sentiments Tate shared during an interview Tuesday with “Late Hits” on SiriusXM NFL Radio, during which the wide receiver gave the pitch that his agent, Todd France, has no doubt given the Seahawks.

“I did my job,” said Tate, one of the Seahawks’ starters who’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. “I handled my business, I stayed healthy, I was reliable all year, each year I’ve shown to be better than the last, I was one of the leaders in the league in punt returns, I was the leader on the team in receiving yards and catches. So with that being said, I’ve done my part so I can’t really worry about it.”

Tate, who just finished out his rookie deal with the Seahawks, is expected to test the market once free agency begins March 11.

When asked how the conversations between his representatives and the Seahawks have gone, Tate said “things have been pretty chill” and that he hasn’t “heard too much.”

“I’ve kind of just been trusting in my agent and him being good at his work,” Tate said. “I know Todd’s had some great deals in the past, so I’m kind of just letting him handle it and just trying to stay stress-free and really just enjoy being a Super Bowl champ. Being a champion, not many people can say that.

“The icing on the cake would be to stay in Seattle and have a nice contract thrown my way, but right now I’m just enjoying being a world champion.”
