Bryant, who was released Feb. 28 by the Seahawks, has agreed to a four-year deal with the Jaguars, who are coached by former Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.

The 6-foot-4, 323-pound Bryant was a captain and a giant presence on the Seahawks defensive line, primarily serving to stop the run. He had 31 tackles and 1.5 sacks during the Seahawks’ Super Bowl-winning run in 2013.

Bryant, who will turn 30 next month, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by Seattle. He played under Bradley with the Seahawks from 2009 through 2012.

He was one of only four players on the team in 2013 that joined the team before head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider took over in 2010.

Free agency doesn’t start until Tuesday, but Bryant was allowed to sign before that date because he was released. He would have made $4.5 million in 2014, plus a $3 million bonus, if the Seahawks had retained him on their roster through March 14.
