Former Seahawk Kellen Davis signs with Giants

Kellen Davis, a backup tight end for the Seahawks last season, has signed with the Giants.

Davis becomes the eight unrestricted free agent to sign elsewhere after spending last season with the Seahawks. His departure comes as no surprise given his minimal role in 2013 and the moves Seattle has made at tight end during the offseason.

Davis was signed after Seattle’s first game and spent the remainder of the season as the third tight end, playing behind Zach Miller and Luke Willson. He finished with three three receptions in 15 regular-season games, appeared in both the divisional round and NFC title game and was a healthy scratch in the Super Bowl.

Miller is returning next season after agreeing to a pay cut and Willson is entering the second year of his rookie deal. Seattle has re-signed Anthony McCoy and added Travis Beckum. Cooper Helfet is the other tight end on Seattle’s roster.
