Report: Seahawks exec Scot McCloughan resigns

The Seahawks have reportedly lost a key member of their front office as Scot McCloughan is resigning to tend to a family matter, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
McCloughan, whose title is senior personnel executive, is considered one of the organization’s top talent evaluators, and his resignation comes two weeks before the NFL draft.
The Seahawks hired McCloughan in June of 2010, adding to their front office someone who had spent five seasons with the 49ers – the last two as their general manager – and was largely responsible for drafting many of the players that had helped San Francisco win consecutive NFC West titles.
In Seattle, McCloughan’s primary duties involved assisting general manager John Schneider in building the roster. He had previously worked in Seattle’s front office as director of college scouting.
