What to make of Sherman’s contract comments

Richard Sherman has been in the news this week (when is he not?), with reports offering different takes on where the All-Pro cornerback stands in his contract negotiations with the Seahawks.
The NFL Network’s Albert Breer spoke with Sherman on Wednesday and asked him if his goal is to be the highest-paid cornerback in the league.
Sherman’s response: “Whatever they feel I am due. I will take it as respect. It’s all about respect in this game and the only way people show respect is the dollar sign. So we’ll see what happens.”
