Keith Price released as Seahawks sign Kevin Williams

By Brady Henderson

Keith Price’s brief tenure with the Seahawks has come to an end – at least for now – as the former Washington quarterback was one of two players the team released on Monday.

The Seahawks needed to clear a spot on their 90-man roster when they agreed to terms last week with free-agent defensive tackle Kevin Williams. Another spot was needed to sign running back Demitrius Bronson, which the team did Monday while releasing Price and defensive end Kenneth Boatright.

Price, who signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent, was facing an uphill battle to make Seattle’s roster given the team’s depth at quarterback.

Bronson, who began his career at UW then transferred to Eastern Washington, attended the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp. His signing gives the Seahawks an additional body at running back, a position that could be a man short at this week’s minicamp if starter Marshawn Lynch does not attend.

Boatright signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent last year.
