Report: Seahawks reach deal with cornerback Terrell Thomas

The Seahawks have reportedly reached a deal with Terrell Thomas, a veteran cornerback who has spent his six-year career with the Giants.
Thomas, 29, returned to the NFL in 2013 after missing the previous two seasons with ACL tears.
Thomas confirmed via Twitter his deal with the Seahawks, who have yet to make an announcement.
“I’m so thankful for the Seattle Seahawks giving me an opportunity to continue my dream,” he tweeted. “Can’t wait to hit the field with my new teammates!”
The deal reunites Thomas with Pete Carroll, his coach at USC. It also gives Seattle some added depth at cornerback, perhaps another option at the nickel spot, where Jeremy Lane and Phillip Adams are the other candidates.
Thomas was a second-round pick in 2008, and his once-promising career was derailed by a pair of ACL tears in his right knee that occurred a year apart, the first during a 2011 preseason game and the second during training camp the following year. Thomas, who also torn his right ACL in college, is believed to be one of only two NFL players to appear in a game following a third tear of the same ACL.
Last season he started seven games and appeared in all 16, serving as the Giants’ slot cornerback. He made 58 tackles and one interception while playing 546 snaps, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Thomas was named the NFC’s defensive player of the week in late October after recording 11 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in a win over Philadelphia.
No scouting report for a Seahawks cornerback would be complete without mention of his size. Thomas, as you might have guess, is big. He’s listed at either 6-feet or 6-1 and between 191 and 197 pounds.
