Seahawks place DT Jesse Williams on injured reserve

It didn’t look good when Seahawks defensive tackle Jesse Williams left Wednesday’s practice on a cart.
It didn’t seem any better a day later when coach Pete Carroll described it as a serious knee injury that will likely require surgery.
On Friday it became official: Williams has been placed on injured reserve, an especially disheartening development for the 2013 fifth-round pick in light of the knee injury that forced him to miss all of his rookie season.
It was one of several roster moves the team announced just after the start of Friday’s practice. Tight end Anthony McCoy has also been placed on injured reserve, the result of an Achilles injury he sustained Tuesday. The team signed linebacker Marcus Dowtin and wide receiver Ronald Johnson. Wide receiver Randall Carroll was released.
